Eat traditionally

Having a restaurant meal is something special and a highlight of the day. In a cosy atmosphere and with good company you can enjoy regional, seasonal dishes as well as classic fare from our traditional kitchen. Why not enjoy our hospitality and let us spoil you, either on the patio, in the restaurant area or the function room. A children’s menu and play area make the visit an adventure for our younger guests.

Relax superbly

Simply leave your worries behind you – get away from those everyday stresses and give your body and mind a well-earned break. Whether a resident or a guest from the local area, you can recharge in our Finnish sauna or in the infrared cabin in the hotel’s spa area. Afterwards, relax in our chill-out room which exudes a really special atmosphere thanks to its warm red tones and light-coloured ceiling beams made from silver fir wood. Or enjoy a dip in our jacuzzi with its massage jets, varying light and music if desired.

The fifth generation

Established on 28 February 1244 by the Counts of Freiburg, the Gasthof zum Ochsen is the oldest hotel in Vöhrenbach and a place with a rich tradition. Owned by the Ketterer family since 1875, it had historical significance as a place of important decisions and was also host to high-ranking figures. Today we, the Winker family, are carrying on its tradition-steeped story and, together with our team, will make every effort to give you a pleasant stay. Visit us at the Gasthof zum Ochsen – where history meets hospitality.

The magical Black Forest

The Black Forest holiday region is known worldwide for its nature, culture, traditions and ‘Heimat’. In the southern part of the mountains is Vöhrenbach, the town of the Linach reservoir. Alongside cultural attractions such as the Linach reservoir or the exhibitions by the local Heimat society about the clock industry and mechanical musical instrument construction, the location offers an outdoor pool, ski lifts and cross country ski trails. The central location in the Black Forest makes Vöhrenbach the ideal starting point for hikes, cycling or motorbike tours and also for numerous excursion destinations near and far.
